Three ways up
From the bus station on foot
About twenty minutes, uphill throughout. There is next to no shade on the way. In the midday heat many find it hard going, in the morning or late afternoon it is considerably easier.
From Bodrum Castle
There is no continuous footpath from the castle to the theatre, you climb through side streets and it is easy to get lost. That is the commonest complaint in visitor accounts. By taxi it is a short ride.
By car
The theatre sits on the main road and is visible from the carriageway, with a signpost. The road is two lanes and fast, so take care parking and crossing.

- Hat and sun protection. There is no shade.
- Solid shoes. The ground is ancient stone and uneven.
